Smoking and Tobacco Use Policy
The College is dedicated to the health and comfort of all employees and to those who wish to work and learn in a smoke- and tobacco-free environment. With this consideration paramount, the College has adopted the following policy:
In compliance with Act 734, the Arkansas Clean Air on Campus Act of 2009, effective January 1, 2010, College of the Ouachitas shall be entirely Tobacco Free. Smoking or tobacco use shall not be permitted at any College of the Ouachitas campus, building and/or parking lot or any off-campus sites, including but not limited to the Arkansas Workforce Center. The policy applies to all students, faculty, and staff as well as visitors. College of the Ouachitas facilities and vehicles, leased or owned, regardless of location, shall also be Tobacco Free. Any person in violation of this policy is subject upon conviction to a $100 - $500 fine or dismissal.
